Power Steering Pump

I have a '90 Mercury Grand Marquis. Full Power. 5.0, with a leak in the Power steering Pump. I have tightened all connections and it still leaks. Now What?

Bad pump more than likely. Ford power steering pumps are notorious groaners, leakers and problem spots.

My uncle's 1999 company issued Windstar has two bulletins on it .

Is it a bad leak?

You should have a pro look at it. It may just need a new reservoir. If you can afford it, have the pump replaced.(reservoir comes with it).
If it's a slow leak & you can't afford to replace it. Do what I did. Buy some stop leak from any auto store. (If it dosen't stop it'll slow down.)
If it still leaks, top it off when needed. Be sure to check the level evey few days till it you can afford to replace it.

I top mine off once a week.
It's been leaking for a year.
