Unhappy Digital Odometer Not lit

I have a '99 Pontiac Sunfire. My Odometer read my milage was at 72,000 something yesterday but who knows now, because it's not lit. I have a digital odometer and now it won't display. I'm sure this is an electrical problem but everything else is working fine. How much does it cost to fix this? What causes this? Any help would be appreciated! Hate to say it, but I'm female so I'm not "getting" the problem.

You could have a bad fuse or loose connection. However it's more likely the instument panel cluster(part your speedometer and mileage are in)has a bad internal component. These parts come dealer or certified speedo repair shop only.If you change it yourself(not recommended)your car will not start unless towed to the dealer due to the passlock system.I don't know the exact cost but it will be in the hundreds, sorry. If you put a used one in,which you shouldn't be able to buy,you would violate tampering laws.
