My wife was driving her 1993 ford escort wagon the other day and the car just died. A passerby told her that they were equipped with a fuel cut-off switch located in the back. Sure enough after switching the switch back on the car ran fine. Any idea what could cause this switch to trip out?
Thanks
Bill

The switch is a saftey device that shuts of the gas flow when the car is in a collision otherwise you may have gas spewing all over the place if a gas line is ruptured somewhere.A minor fender bender may activate it or severe vibration.
