Alternator repair for Honda

Hi! I'm new to this forum but, excited about it. I've done a lot of repairs to air-cooled vw's but, am driving a Honda now. It's a 1985 Honda Civic LX. The alternator is on its last leg and must be repaired. From looking at the engine, it looks like it may be easier to remove the one on it from the underside of the engine. Has anyone done this and have some helpful hints?

Thanks!

See if the autolibrary link in my signature file has anything on it.

Well, it came off fine. I didn't have to take off the driveaxle and it's a good thing.

Thanks for all of the input!
