Question Wipers

I drive a 07 Mazda Protege, and the wipers stopped working the other day, the blades are fine, I replaced the blades about three months ago, but when I try to use the wipers the motor for the wipers is running, you can hear it turning but the wiper arms won't swing. I thought at firts that they might have mjsut been frozen but that is not the case. I need to get them fixed ASAP, but I don't really know what's wrong wiht them, but winter is started, and it's not very safe to have be driving without the wipers

Check the wiper transmission and linkage. In all possibility, something fell off.

Not if the motor is running . Mechanical, not electrical issue.

wipers

Pull the wiper arms off the turn stubs then put on the wipers and see if the studs are turning back and forth. (the inside of the housing on the wiper blade that go over the stud may be stripped.)

I've had them where the end of the motor shaft breaks off. The motor contiues to run but cant provide mechanical motion to the wiper tranmission.
