Freezein in Millennia

1995 Mazda Millennia with 125,000 miles. I have a heating problem. I have removed a motor type mechanism located in the dash behind the radio. This mechanism looks like a small black box with a tab on it that looks like it slides back and forth to take the car from A/C mode to Heater mode. The tab is broken and it doesn't allow the mechanism to switch from A/C to Heater. Is there a way to manually switch the car to heater? Is there a way to close or open a baffle to get me some heat until I can get a part to replace the broken mechanism? Thanks for the help

Not worth it. Order the part from any Mazda dealer and they should have it in a few days time from their parts depot.
