Wheel bearing dustcap removal

Is there a special tool for pulling off the dustcap on the end of the axle when servicing wheel bearings?

If not, what is the best method for removing the dustcap?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

A screwdriver or chisel. The chisel works best, just push it in the seam and hit the chisel with a hammer and pry the cap at the same time.

Yes a special set of pliers do exist for this task.If you use a screwdriver or chisel be careful not to make a hole in the dust cap or it will need replaced.Sometimes channellock pliers will work also.
