carb ?

what is the difference in a 1 bbl rochester type b and type c carburetor. is is just the years they developed, or is it an application code. I have a type c on a 1962 chevy C-30 with a 235 Inline six cylinder in it. Would this be the proper carburetor for a high torque but low horsepower application. Or is there a better choice for an older six cylinder. thanks joe

Depends on what you are trying to do. B&C carburetors differ in design. No 1 barrel is any "high" performance unit, they were all designed for economy.

Stick with the stock carburetor unit for that given year. An old time Chevy parts book or Rochester engineering book should tell you what is right for your application.

There are plenty of old time carburetor guys in Hemmings Magazine. I suggest you look there.
