Help!!!

My 1991 sundance 2.2 has coolant in the oil. How hard is it to change the head gasket and what else do I need to change? One parts store out of seven said I need to use new bolts is that true? Never had to on my other car. This has been a very good car but the last 3 months things keep falling apart. Thanks for the advise.

probably more money than what you would want to spend on a this model car and i never have pulled a head off of a 2.2 or 2.5 chrysler that wasnt cracked so you will likely be looking at more than a head gasket. it is usually recomended to replace all head bolts when replacing head gasket on most vehicles.

I agree with BeJay.

Use good quality gaskets and have the head checked professionally by a machine shop for cracks.

Change the timing belt and water pump at the same time as the repair. Sit down and figure out if it's worth doing or not, taking into account the condition of the rest of the car.
