1987 Ford 150-shutting off while driving

I posted yesterday that my truck (302) started shutting off when I cam to a stop, it did not choke down, just cutoff.

The oil pressure is holding and it is full of oil. Does this when I come to stop ior slow down.

Also yesterday began to hear dry clanking noise under the truck in oil pan area, the noise speeds up and slows down with the engine.

Please help,,,need truck for work.

Sorry to post another thread but 16 views and no replies! LOL
Thought I would try new message.

Another post won't get you a faster answer, it will slow me down torward getting to yours .

You cannot ascertain anything by the dash gauge. If you hear rapping in the oil pan area, it could be signs of internal engine problems. Rent a reliable hand held gauge from any parts store and check your oil pressure versus the specs in autolibrary.org.

Tell us what you find.
