replacing an oxygen sensor

I am trying to replace the oxygen sensor on my 98 toyota tacoma sr5. I can't take the old one off at the plug end. Any ideas on how to do this?

The connector can be disconnected from the harness by depressing the tab & pulling the sensor side of the connector shell away from the harness side.

If you must, use a small screwdriver to help depress the tab, but don't go ape on it or you'll break the locking tab, rendering it useless.
