Thermostat

Hi:

My question is this...I was having some problems with the coolant system (1990 pontiac transport) and removed the thermostat. Now, I want to put it back in and can not remember if the side with the spring goes in towards the block or towards the housing connected to the hose that leads to the top of the radiator.

Thanks.

Bob

THEMOSTAT

FIRST DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND THROW THE OLD ONE AWAY AND GET A NEW FAIL SAFE THEMOSTAT AND THEN PUT THE NEW ONE IN WITH THE SPRING SIDE UP TOWARDS THE HOUSING AND HOSE

Bob,

I agree with both Almost AND Cheese....

Almost is right about getting a new thermostat and gasket

Cheese is right in the spring side goes down or toward the motor.
