F250 Squeeks

1986 Ford F250 with 67,000 miles

When I get up to about 40 mph I hear a rapid squeek, squeek, squeek, squeek, squeek....squeek, squeek, squeek, squeek, squeek if trying to maintain speed or go faster in a straightaway. If I let up on the gas its quiet. It is a sound similar to what you hear when you try to turn too sharply. The Powerstearing fluid is ok. My wife says its the belt that makes the speedomoter move.

Any other ideas?

Check for play in the U-joints.

I guess a U-joint has something to do with steering linkage?

It has to do with the driveshaft and on 4 wheel drives, half shaft.
