Serpentine belt on a 94 Grand Voyager

The serpentine belt on my 94 Grand Voyager with the 3.3L engine (and air conditioning) jumped off today. The belt did not break, it just came off. I am going to replace the belt as I found a crack in it but what would cause it to just come off like that. I don't want to risk it happening to my wife again.

well a couple of things come to mind that is common check the water pump for excessive bearing play and also check the tensioner pulley for misalignment, usually it is the tensioner that is seperating that causes the belt to come off on caravans.

I agree with bejay...the tensioner would be the first place I'd look...if it's even still there. They like to break off completely. If not the tensioner, then check all accessories and pulleys.
