Kia Sephia Alternator

I'm trying to replace the alternator in a 1999 Kia Sephia 1.8 liter DOHC. I have it lose but can't get it out of the engine compartment. Alldata says to just lift it out but I swear there is no way its coming out of there. Can anyone give me advice on the best way to get it out and the new one in? Thanks.

Did you also look in autolibrary below to see if they have better R&R instructions?

FYI

In case anyone else has this problem, I found out the way to do it is to put the thing on a lift (can't be supported by the tires) and take the subframe mounts lose and lower the rear of the engine. The bolts are bears to loosen. Might be best to have this done rather than fool with all the jack stands and such. I have a friend thats a mechanic and he put it on the lift and did it. These cars are definetly not DIY friendly as my old S-10 is.
