abs
1998 crv-ex
the abs light just came on
i assume this means i only have regular brakes now
does the computer automatically make the light go on for service or could there be a problem?
it has just turned 90000 kilometers(55000 miles for my southern friends)
just had new pads on turned rotors and rear drums serviced about a month ago(at the dealer)and brand new tires about 2 weeks ago
i dont want to be taken to the cleaners, any thoughts?

The trouble code means there is fault in the ABS system. You will need the proper scan tool to read the codes.
Do not fool with the ABS system without the proper knowledge, procedures and tools to fix it.
Since you had it serviced just about a month ago, I would have the dealer double check their work for you.

tires
just a side note
i put tires on , but they are a bit bigger
honda said dont vary more than 1%- i went 3% bigger
205-70-15 to205-75-15 just about 3/4" taller (radial long trail t/s
by BF -amazing up here in toronto) i phoned a dealer and they said it would not do anything but screw up speedo
this couldnt harm abs?

It very well could have. You might have caused the tire to rub on the wiring of the wheel sensor.
Stick with the stock tire size in all cases on a street vehicle. More trouble than it is worth.
Blizzaks should be available in your stock size for tough winters, or another reliable snow brand.

ihave done some looking
the tire size is not a factor
i t looks like a speed sensor
crv s seem to dislike lots of snow and water
which causes poor abs readings-the sensor is malfunctioning
i will bring in to get code read and let you know
thanks
