Drive Selector

1997 Ford Explorer, 51K. Yesterday the pointer on the drive selector moved. Instead of the P, it's now on R, the R now on N, etc. I checked with the cybrrpartspro.com and step 2 says remove the radio. How? Is there a special tool? Thanks and Happy New Year to All!

Very simple operation. On your radio there is a pair of small holes on each side. The special tools look like horse shoes. They are thin metal rod or almost wire. You insert them into the holes. You will feel them click in. That pushes the lock tabes out so you can pull radio out. You may have to wiggle it a little to get it out. You can get these tools at any store that carries after market radio's. Hope to have been a big help.

I agree with Roland. I believe Walmart has the tools as well.

Thanks, Roland and Joe. I'll check with Walmart tomorrow. Hope you all have a Christ-filled year!
