'98 Bonneville 3.8 serpentine belt noise..help!

I never drive my wifes car, but it is making her crazy. I changed the belt this past summer just to be safe and after a water pump failure. This thing has been noisy ever since....I mean noisy enough to make people look as I pass. I tried cleaning the pulleys with brake cleaner and a mechanic even told me if all else fails use WD40 sprayed on the belt! Well, I WD'ed it twice and it kinda helped for a while, but it's acting up again. I would just try another one but they are $40 and you have to remove the motor mount and support the engine to replace it! Any advice??

Poor quality replacement belt or damaged idler/tensioner pulley assembly.

Joe, when the water pump went I had to replace the tensioner pulley because the bearing went. I also had the alternator rebuilt because the water wiped out the bearings in it too. I purchased the belt from Pep Boys, do you suggest a belt from the dealer or what brand do you suggest?

Gates or Dayco.

Both of them supply GM. The only way I'd go.
