4X4 grinding noise

Ive got a 91 S-10 Blazer 4X4. When I am in 4WD, I have noticed that it has a sort of grinding noise when I reach higher RPMs in a gear. But as soon as it shifts it oes away. Can someone tell me anything?

Mileage? Last time the transfer case saw service?

Sounds like some internal failure inside.

Lol. I actually have a GM OEM manual for that exact vehicle up on Ebay. LOL

The mileage on the vehicle is 120,657. We bought this in late October of 2001 from a small dealership near us. We bought it for our now 17 year old son and it has been running fine since we bought it...until now. We have not had the transfer case checked out since the purchase. Is this something we should do? What could be the possible damage? All your help is greatly appreciated and I think I speak for everyone when I say that.
