lock cylinder removal

I just bought a 1984 Mercedes 300DT. It runs great, but now the key will not turn out of the 0 position. I have been advised by the technician at the Mercedes helpline that the only way to remove the lock cylinder is to drill it out. Can someone tell me how to do that?

Get a big bit and go through the center of it and take it out in pieces.

Usually, there's another way (on most cars), but if a MB tech told ya that, run with it .

You might want to contact the seller & see if he/she has a spare key. Try the other key & see what happens.

Knuckles made a good suggestion, but the original post is not clear.

Is the key stuck in the ignition lock? Or is the key out and the lock stuck?
