power points

I have a 2001 nissan xterra. I recently purchased a power adapter to charge my cell phone via a power point in the vehicle. In the xterra there are two power point outlets that always have power wether truck is on or not, it also has one cigarette lighter that is controlled by the accessory switch on the ignition.
When I plugged the adapter in to the power point that I usually used it worked for about a minute then went off. I removed the adapter and plugged it into the cigarette lighter, same thing.
I replaced the fuse for the lighter and took the adapter back. The lighter works now, but the power points don't and I can't find a fuse for them. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I dont know about your vehicle but some of these new cars have 2 or 3 fuse/relay boxes. Have you checked under the hood for additional fuses?

Did you try another adapter? That one might be wasted.
