87 Cadillac Deville - heating problems

I am having problems getting the heater to work in my car. I have replaced the thermostat. When I turn it on it feels like the air conditioner is on. What should I do? Please help!

could be a number of things,

clogged heater core, bad vaccume controlled doors, bad heater control valve, bad climate control computer.

I would check the heater core first.

1. turn on the heater
2. run the engine till its at normal operating temp
3. check both the hoses going into and out of the heater core

results

a. both cool = bad heater control valve
b. one warm the other cool = clogged heater core
c. both warm and no heat inside = then its probably a door in the wrong location or a messed up climate control computer.

do these checks and let us know what you got from it and we will go further.
