Sunfire Diagnostics

Hey all! I have a question for ya... I have a 1998 Sunfire 2.4L. My boyfriend says that there's a trick to get the diagnostic codes from the car at home. He drives a Neon and just turns the car off and on 4 times and it blinks out the codes for him. Anyone know the one for a Sunfire? It's kind of hard to get our cars to a parts store or dealership, so any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Kats

Not possible to extract codes in this fashion from an OBDII equipped GM vehicle. You need a proper scan tool to hook up to the data link under the dashboard.

Hit any Autozone store. They'll pull the codes for free.

Just remember, the codes that Autozone pulls for you will refer to a component, circuit or system.. For example, a code for an O2 sensor doesn't mean the sensor is actually bad..It could be other things causing the sensor to read incorrectly..

Correct. It will merely point you in the right direction.
