Cad engine swap

Have a 87 Cad Deville that I would like to pull the V8 and tranny and replace with the V6 and tranny. Has anyone got any experience with this swith? The car is in great shape but the engine and tranny are tired.

you would be better off sticking with what is originaly equiped with the car any conversion would probably be very costly just to get it compatible electricaly such as wiring harness and ecm changes, and probably more work than what it would be worth.

I agree and why? A 6 in this car will be painfully slow. Stick with the V8 as equipped.

The 4.1 is a crappy engine and you could swap in a 4.5, but it's not really worth it.
