e-brake

Hi,

I've noticed recent that when pull the handle to engage my e-brake that it become very loose and pulls all the way to the top of the console. A year ago it maybe went 2/3 of the way.
Would this be due to the ebrake compnent needing maintainance or the actual brake (the drum brakes in the back right??) needing to be replaced?

Thanks,
Shawn

it could mean the rear brakes are in need of servicing, could also be a broken or stretched cable i would probably start by checking the rear brakes see if they are worn out.

Either as Bejay pointed out. Could be wiped out calipers (common on GM) which freeze in place and do not adjust.
