FUel Pump

I have a 94 CHevy S-10 V6. It would not start. So I replaced the fuel pump. It started and ran for 2 days. So I replaced the fuel pump again and also this time the fuel filter and strainer. It ran for about 5 miles then died. Cannot get it to start. What else could be the problem? The pump is pumping the lines are clear but still no fuel will pump. HELP!

What brand of fuel pump are you using? Only use good quality replacements.

What is the fuel pressure that you are measuring at the rail? Start with my post "The Basics" and autolibrary.org below.

Fuel Pump

THe pump is a Carter Federal Mogul Fuel Pump. I don't have a pressure gauge, But I can't have a whole lot of pressure cause the gas is not making it out of the tank to the filter.

You need to rent a fuel pressure gauge. Autozone rents them for free. You cannot guess as to what the fuel pressure is.

Pitch that pump in favor of a GM or AC Delco replacement. Much better off. That is likely your problem--you got a few defects.

Also, check your fuel pump relay. Could be crashing on you.
