Dodge Caravan

My parents have a 97(i think) caravan.. The brakes are starting to squeak.. They have never been replaced.. Is this some thing I can do?? Meaning replace them.. I am pretty good figuring out mechanical things.. I am not sure if they are disk or drum.. Iam guessing disk.. If I do it my self do I need to get the rotors or any thing turned?? What brand pads would you reccomend?? Or even better a website that would show the steps.. Thanks again..

Look at the steps in autolibrary.org below. If you do not not FULLY understand them, have it professionally serviced. Brakes are not something to gamble on or experiment with!
