No power when it gets hot

I am having a problem with my 1996 F150 Ford p/up with a 5.0 FI l
iter engine. After driving for a hour or more start to loose power, And starts to jerk and trying to backfire. It does it when it is above 80 degrees, it won't go over 20 MPH. When I pull over it Idles ok and doesn' try to stall. I have replaced the Convertor and the preheat convertor and muffler and the electric fuel pump on the frame, It has duel tanks i tried switche tanks when the problem was ther and did not change anything the problem was still there.

Whoa Nelley. Stop throwing parts at the problem.
Start with the links and posts in my signature file below.

Ford models with distributor mounted ignition modules fail like wildfire and may be the cause of your problem.
