timing belt 1994 ford ranger
i have a 1994 ford ranger 2.3 mfi 4 cyl. the timing belt broke. does the aux. shaft sprocket have to be on a timing mark also, if not why is there.

thanx but still need help
the website is great thanx! i replaced the timing belt and when i started the truck it makes this loud knocking noise coming from all around the engine and the gauge shows no oil pressure. the truck ran fine up to the timing belt breakage help?

EEEk. Could be a blown engine. Check the oil pressure with a hand-held gauge to see if you have any actual oil pressure.
Pull down the pan and have a look to see if you have a clogged oil pump and screen. If you do, replace it, but the damage may have been done
