I HAVE A 1994 TAURUS 3.0L V6 AUTOMATIC TRANS. PROBLEM IS WHEN DRIVING (55 MPH) OR SO AND YOU GO TO PUT ON THE BRAKES, THE CAR SHIFTS INTO LOWER GEARS THEN JUMPS OUT OF GEAR. WHEN YOU STOP CAR WILL GO BACK INTO GEAR AND CHANGES NORMALLY UNTIL YOU APPLY BRAKES. WHAT IS MY PROBLEM

not sure might take it by a transmission shop and have them look at it , the only thing that should be disengaging when you hit the brakes is the torque convertor clutch, but it shouldnt be very noticable, and should still remain in gear.
