Does Cruise "On" button set a remote relay?

My cruise button quit working, unless I hold it "On".
Click it once for "On", click it again for "Off".
But now it wont stay "On".

The steering wheel button does not seem to be dual selection.
I think it signals a remote relay to turn off and on.
The car is a 2000 Buick LeSabre.
65,000 miles.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nevin

Does this have the cruise "on/off" button located on the steering wheel with the little light on the button?

I work on mostly Olds' and Caddy's, but they should be close to the same.

If it has this style and holding the button down and the little light comes on and cruise operates then the button is bad. Time for button replacement.

Seen a bunch of these on Caddy's.

Hope this helps.
