88olds cutles ceria 2.8L what would cause it to die when driving down hyway let it sit for a littel bit it will start then it may not do it again untill the next time you drive it

Several items come to mind, but first off I would make sure all basic tune-up/preventive maintenance items are serviceable: Plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter. Check JoeF's post "The Basics" also.

Next item, have it scanned for any trouble codes (AutoZone will do it for free).

Other possibilities - Ignition module (breaking down when it heats up), fuel pump (will need to do pressure check).
