How can i check if possible recalls items
were fix on a jeep grand cherokee?

As a rule, when repaired, the dealer puts a sticker on the veh. Look on the hood latch member/Panel in front of the radiator and see if any stickers exist. Otherwise a dealer should be able to submit the VIN and find out for you.

another ? i've got a 98 jeep grand cherokee limited with the 360 motor and all kinds of goodies, is an all time all wheel drive. can i removed this to work only as a two wheel drive?

Why would you want to take a premium truck and make it bottom grade? I agree.

If you mean you want SelecTrac versus Quadratrack, that would be a step down. The SelecTrac was on the lower end Jeeps where you had to do the shifting to 4WD, the Quadratrack to my knowledge does it "automatically".

My friend had this exact vehicle as yours. She had a lot of trouble with it from both the factory and the dealer. I helped her with it a few times with some advice being that we do not live in the same town.

She eventually pitched it for something else .
