92 Jeep YJ

My Jeep has been whistling lately (the past week), I was wondering if I just have to change my fan belt, or if it is something different. I just had my vehicle certified a few weeks ago. The whistling only happens when I am idling and when accelerating. Thanks

Could be a vacuum leak also. If the belt is old thats a good place to start for replacement. when the old belt is off you can spin all most of the pullies on the accessories to see if they generate any noise...or start the engine and listen for the whistle with the belt off.

Whistling Jeep

The whistling noise is common in Jeep Wranglers and it originates at the Vaccum gasket on the Intake side of the engine. Replace the gasket or find the leak and fill it with SuperGlue. The whistiling will stop.
