Unhappy No brake lights 85' Monte Carlo

I have tried everything. I've checked the fuses, the bulbs, and I even changed the stop light switch. I've been to various websites but no one has been able to pinpoint the problem. Now the taillights and signal lights still work. Can you PLEASE HELP!

does it have a third brake light does it work?
probably a bad turn signal switch may want to get a wiring diagram for your car and make sure that voltage is going through the turn signal switch if it isnt it is bad.
you can check the site below and see if they have a diagram although you would be better off with a oem manual or subsription to all data.

Thumbs up

Agree with BeJay. I had this happen to the guy I used to work with in the garage with my neighbor. His was a 1981 Cutlass. The wires frayed at the base of the column from age.

A new GM turn signal switch fixed the problem in a few hours time with us doing the work.
