97 ford expedition

Our 1997 Ford Expedition, 4 wheel drive V8 - has squeaking in the front end on the drivers side. We have replaced the swaybar link on both drivers and passenger side of the truck, we've had someone look at the truck and they can't find anything wrong with it. They said to put the swaybar link in because one was missing and the other was broke and to put wd40 on it and it would help. So far nothing has helped it is still squeaking horribly.

Does anyone have any ideas what that could be or what we could do to fix it?

Check alldata.com for any known bulletins or recalls that pertain to the problem.

WD40 is not likely to fix anything like that permanently. It is a better pentrating oil than it is a lubricant.

There is a Service Bulletin out by Ford on diagnostics for noise/vibration,etc. It is 109 pages long and will take some time to download. It includes the 1997-1999 Expedition.

What I have done is to use silicone spray lube available from your auto parts store and spray one or two bushings at a time and bounce or test drive the vehicle. Dont forget to spray contol arm bushings, struts/shocks, spring mounts...any thing that might move in the suspension.
