oil pump, 79 Ford Van

Okay, I am going to have to change it myself. I know the oil pan has to be dropped.
Once the oil pan is off, will it be kind of idiot proof? Or is there some secret i should know about? I have tried fruitlessly to find an online manual (broke -- can't go get one). Can anybody shed some light, perhaps a step by step??? if that isn't too much to ask.

Thanks in advance

Carie, Here is a link to Chilton's On-line manual.

Sorry I can't help with much more info as you did not list model or engine size.

Good Luck.

If you look up any Ford van (you don't mention which engine you have in this 1979), you can probably find the R&R procedure.

I would suggest you visit the public library for a manual as well. If you don't have a library card, you should . Most libraries have repair manuals.
