engine rebilding

on a 1990 Blazer putting new rings in and I can not get the pistons in using a ring compressor and I did hone the cylinder need help?

Did you check your ring end-gaps? Sounds like they're too big for the hole. Did you cut the ridge in the cylinder?

This is going to sound bad, but it's a worthy suggestion.

Bail out and have the machine work done professionally, while you do the R&R of the motor and other components to save the labor. The work you are doing requires decent skill, knowhow, and a good selection of internal engine tools as well as good knowledge of measurements.

You could wind up doing this twice!
