94 Corsica Elect??

My wifes car "94 Chevy Corsica all of a sudden inside dome light stays on and when you put it in gear the doors don't automaticly lock?? Any ideas??

Check the door pin switches for sticking/proper operation first.

As for not locking automatically, look for a blown fuse.

See autolibrary.org below for more ideas.

Fuses are fine, locks work when you hit the lock/unlock button. There is a fuse to override the feture that locks and unlocks with the shifter and it's good.

I was also thinking on the lines of a door switch. Back door switches are right out in the open but I can't seem to find front door switches even with my eyes open.

They might be integrated into the door latch. Hit the dealer's parts counter and ask.

Check fuses. On some GM cars they remove the fuse if you do not like the lock when in gear feature. Is is aggravting sometime but is a safey feature when they do lock, when you put veh. in gear.
