Too much window tint!

Thanks to the help of Joe-F, stevo2, bejay and many others, my "project" Plymouth Grand Voyager is at its new home - MINE! Numerous smaller projects now begin. One of the first is the glass - the previous owner installed limousine tint on all the windows, including a strip about halfway down thr windshield. This was especially annoying as I drove the van home AT NIGHT! I would like to rwmove the tint without damaging the glass. Can this be done with a razor blade-type scraper of the type used for removing inspection/registration stickers from windshields, or do I need to try another approach? What about removing any residual adhesive - soap-and-water or lacquer thinner? Anyone with ideas/experience, please post! Thanks in advance. - Chris

There are various chemicals on the market at body shop supply stores that will remove the glue residue.

Yes, it's a dirty and nasty job and you'll be there for a while with a scraper.

A heat gun may help in removing the film. Be careful not to melt anything!
