1990 cutlass ciera starter

My starter is starting to wind , may be going soon . I know the older Gm's
were 2 or 3 bolts under neath near the firewall. This vehicle is front-wheel
drive . Is it harder to get at ?? . Anything tricky about removing it , and what size rachets or special tools are needed ? Does anything else need to be removed first ??

Common handtools found in any Craftsman or other quality set will do it.

Pick up a repair manual from your library to guide you in the R&R instructions. Use a Delco rebuilt for best results.

You don't mention which engine, can't help much.

On some of GMs front wheel drive cars a swivel socket and a 6in extension are required. But, you could tell real quick by crawling under there and giving it a look.
