Question wiper arm

I HAVE A 1995 INTREPID
THE WIPER LINKAGE ARM THAT ATTACHES THE ARM FROM THE MOTOR TO THE ARM THAT MOVES BOTH WIPER BLADES HAS COME APART AT THE COMPRESSION FITTING. THIS AREA IS EXPOSED AT THE DRIVER SIDE BELOW THE WINDSHIELD. I HAVE WRAPPED THE TWO ARMS TOGETHER WITH WIRE AND IT IS WORKING.
CAN I BUY ANOTHER PLASTIC COMPRESSION FITTING AND REPLACE IT OR DO I HAVE TO REPLACE THE LINKAGE AS WELL.
IT APPEARS THAT IF I BRAKE OFF THE PLASTIC FITTINGS AND ATTACH BOTH ARMS TOGETHER WITH A BOLT AND WASHERS IT MAY DO IT, I BELEIVE THE ARM ONLY MOVES SIDE TO SIDE

Hit your local dealer for the part. I am sure the service mngr will show you how to repair it. Fix it right, do not jury rig wipers.

I agree. Don't gamble with safety items.
