keep crankshaft from turning

trying to get the balancer/vibration damper off an 85 S-10 Blazer 4x4... got everything off except the crankshaft pulley center bolt because the crankshaft turns with it... haynes repair manuel says jam a screwdriver between starter ring gear and flywheel... this is not possible on this vehicle, so how else can i keep the crankshaft from turning while i take off the center bolt on the crankshaft pulley?? im doin this at home so an impact isnt an option... i have the balancer puller but that doesnt help me with the crankshaft pulley so if u know any methods to keeping the crankshaft from turning while i turn the bolt please respond... im stumped so any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Impact wrench works wonders on these. You may need to rent a harmonic balancer puller also.
