can anyone tell me how many book hours it should take to change a timing belt on a 1993 mercury villager. and where the belt is at?

just guessing the book time is probably around 4 hours but if you are doing it yourself it will likely take alot longer, the belt is underneath the timing covers on the front of the engine, if you are going to do it yourself i would suggest a good manual or subscription to alldata.

I have a 95 Villager and replaced the timing belt myself a while back. I donít remember exactly how long it took but I did do it in an evening after work. Itís not very difficult but itís extremely tight quarters getting to all the cover bolts. If you are standing in front of the van look to the left side of the engine compartment. Just behind the water pump is a large metal cover. Itís right behind that.

Figure a whole day as BeJay recommended (depending on skill level).
