1993 blazer timming check

I want to check the timming on my 1993 s-10 blazer with the 4.3 vortec (vin "w") but i can not find out where the connection is to "put the distributor ignition in bypass mode by disconnecting the timming connection" Can anyone tell me where that is.

Have you moved the distributor? If not leave it alone ignition timing doesn't change unless disturbed. What problem are you having?

yes the timming was moved... the problem is that it has a small miss at idle but not while driving. new plugs, cap, rotor and wires.

Do not alter the timing away from stock specs. Use autolibrary.org to put it back to stock specs---the problem is likely elsewhere, most likely a plugged CPI injector or in the EGR system.
