88 Sunbird Speedometer

88 Sunbird Speedometer

I have replaced the entire guage/speedometer housing and my speedometer still does not work. All guages do work. Could it be a short somewhere?

does the check engine light ever come on?
it could be a bad speed sensor or bad ecm or wiring problem causing it not to function.
