i dont wanna sound dumb or anything, but im car stupid as they say. does that mean the timing chain maybe ? thats what my dad is thinking. but if i blew the engine out, i wouldnt have any oil in it right ? the engine is clean as all hell, and it sounds like it wants to kick over. please elaborate. and joe f, if you see this, please reply with your 2 cents. you have helped me out alot with this fine ford vehicle. The timing chain puts the crankshaft and camshaft in time or sych. If it is off or blows, the timing is off. If the vehicle runs, it's very poorly.

Pull off the distributor cap. If the rotor turns, the timing is "OK".

Start there and with my "The Basics" below. Let us know.

FYI, whenever anyone refers to a Ford as a fine vehicle, we all KNOW it's sarcasm.
