Parts Question

Is there are significant difference in parts quality when looking at Ford's Motorcraft brand versus Ford's original replacement parts? Specifically, I'm looking at brake pads.

Thanks

Joe could answer this better than me, but in my opinion I would go with the Motorcraft parts. But donít buy until you here from Joe, he can tell you more about it than me. He should be around tonight.

Yes and no .

Motorcraft is the sales arm for Ford's aftermarket in select lines (mostly fast moving parts). In MOST cases, the Ford part=Motorcraft.

That is if you go to a Motorcraft parts distributor and order the equivalent Motorcraft #, you will likely save money over the Ford dealer and you've got the same part.

On brakes, Motorcraft has a "V" line (value line). This is basically Bendix parts reboxed. AC Delco has the Durastop line which is Raybestos reboxed.

If you buy the Ford dealer's pads, they may very well be Bendix, but a better grade of them. Bendix is an OEM supplier.
