blower motor switch get hot and smoke

blower motor switch get hot and smoke

i have a 91 chevrolet astro van and everytime i turn on my blower motor it gets hot and smoke at the switch. i have changed the blower motor and changed the switch before that. i can't figure out what is going on. If someone has a answer please share it with me.

Make sure you have a good blower motor ground and check the blower motor resistor.

I agree. Also, how is the connector? They get burned over time.

thanks but do you know where the resistor is located. i also checked the ground with a multimeter. thanks again

Think on that particular model it is under hood by blower motor. Probably in the fiber glass vent housing, on top. Should be a couple wires going to it, easy to see and change.

Agree with Darrell. Call up any GM dealer's parts counter and they'll tell you in two seconds.
