T-bird tranny

I have an '89 T-bird that slips when it kicks into OD. If I keep it in drive it is ok. I'm not sure of the model of the tranny. The engine is a 3.8.
I only bought it because the body is very good and it was only $150.00, and I have a son getting ready to get his "temp" license.

probably will need rebuilt or replaced to fix this problem. i would just drive it in drive for now until the transmission goes completely out. then decide if you want to fix it or not.
you could also change the fluid and filter to see if it helps but theres a good chance it will still be slipping even after changing the fluid and filter.

I agree with BeJay.

Sure, this is a good first car for him to "learn" on. Don't sink a lot of green into it, it's a collosal heap.
